September - A Very Bad Month

  • Sep. 30th, 2008 at 9:12 PM

Thank goodness September is over.  It has been a rough month. . . . With luck things will settle down, and I can get back to my normal routine of reading and watching TV.  I have recorded several shows to watch - including all of the True Blood and Fringe,  hope to watch them this weekend.

Started reading "White Night" by Jim Butcher, need to go back and reread the first couple of chapters, as its been 4 weeks since I started it. . . Having slept since then, I'm foggy on the details. . .  Next on my list is "Howling At The Moon" by Karen MacInerney, looking forward to this one, I love books about werewolves.

Favorite Authors

  • Aug. 17th, 2008 at 10:08 AM

Finished "Scent of Darkness" last night, overall it was a good read.  I'm glad I went ahead and got all 4 books of the series, would hate to have to wait on Amazon to deliver them.  If all goes as planned I will start on "Touch of Darkness" sometime today.

Never realized how much I read until I tried to list some of the authors I enjoy.  Some of my favorites paranormal authors include: P.C. Cast, Tawny Taylor, Katie MacAlister, Sharie Kohler, Lynn Viehl, Kim Harrison, Heather Graham, Christine Feehan, Charlaine Harris, Carrie Vaughn, Toni Andrews, Nalini Singh, Kresley Cole, Angela Knight, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and many more.

Those are only the paranormal - I didn't list Brad Thor, Lee Child, . . . .  better stop or I'll have another list . . .  which would lead to a SciFi list . . .  followed by Mystery list.  If I list all the authors I read, I would not have time to read today.

I'm mean and evil today!

  • Aug. 16th, 2008 at 6:24 PM

Today I was able to express my mean and evil side.  I was able to introduce a toddler to the joys of honey, with the added benefit of not having to clean her up, or put up with the sugar rush that will soon follow.  I was able to be the loving aunt and leave the cleanup to her father.  Must admit that I showed her today how you can use honey to dip all kinds of food, and when I left she was very sticky.  Maybe I'll run to the store and take her a bottle of honey tomorrow.

Reading books by Christina Dodd

  • Aug. 15th, 2008 at 9:15 PM

Several people have recommended Christina Dodd so I decided to give her books a try.  Just purchased all of the Darkness Chosen series.  Will start reading "Scent of Darkness" tomorrow, hope to read all of them this weekend.  Can't start on them tonight, must watch "Stargate Atlantis", after all you can't read all the time.

Waiting for orders from both Amazon and the SciFi Book Club, so with luck my next couple of weeks will the full.  In addition I have 11 books that I've requested via the library using their intra-library loan program.  Must admit that the library has been able to get older, out of print books.

New Author - Wen Spencer

  • Aug. 13th, 2008 at 10:34 AM
New to me anyway.  Got a copy of  "Steel City Magic" by Wen Spencer a few weeks ago in an E-bay auction of a large group of books.  Just got around to reading it last night.  It is two books, "Tinker" and "Wolf Who Rules" both of which are very well written and kept me up until the early morning hours so I could finish and see how it ended.  I hope that there are more in the future for this story line.  Looks like there is another series available by this author, have already checked with my local library to inter-library loan them.

Started reading "The Royal Treatment" by MaryJanice Davidson this morning . . .so far its pretty funny . . . .  will let everyone know how I feel about it.

Currently Reading . . .

  • Aug. 12th, 2008 at 1:54 AM
I love to read and can read several books a week, so I'm always looking for new authors.  Paranormal and fantasy are my current favorites, although I will read just about any type of book.

Currently I'm reading "Magic Bites" by Ilona Andrews.  So far it's a very good read.  I like the paranormal theme, and the story line is creative and is holding my interest, need to find out what other books this wonderful author has written.
